• Barry Wilson, leading drummer with the ScottishPower Pipe Band, drummed his way to victory last month at the RSPBA World Solo Drumming Championships at Glasgow Caledonian University. Coming first out of an entry of around 90 adult players, who had travelled from as far afield as the USA, Canada and Australia, Barry was delighted to be named as the World's No 1 Solo Drummer. This achievement comes after 17 years playing in the adult event where he has consistantly been placed in the top 6 but never quite achieved the top accolade, until now.
