ScottishPower Pipe Band decided to kick start their 2015 competition season by attending at the picturesque Aberdeenshire village of Banchory for their annual pipe band contest held this year on Sunday 24th May in the King George V Park.
17 bands competed on the day which is a reasonable turn out for this small Aberdeenshire village.
For the Grade 1 contest it was the March, Strathspey & Reel discipline and the set played on the day was the Edinburgh City Police Pipe Band, Blair Drummond & John Morrison of Assynt House.
The band won the overall in the Grade 1 competition and also took the best drum corp prize!
