ScottishPower pipe band hit the field running with another fantastic performance at the new UK Championships held in Stormont, Belfast, on Saturday 16th June.
Following on from the great performance at the British Championships in Bathgate, the band finished in second place overall playing in what was near perfect conditions for an outdoor pipe band contest.
It was the turn of the March, Strathspey and Reel discipline to decide the prize winners and on the line the following set of tunes were drawn - The Conundrum, Blair Drummond and Pretty Marion.
This was recorded by Dronechorus who we are again very thankful, he painstakingly stands listening and recording the whole contest for no payment or reward. We managed to catch up with him and thanked him personally on the day and were intrigued to hear that the sound and visuals are recorded separately using very high quality equipment and software. It’s just a shame that when they are uploaded onto Youtube the sound is compressed somewhat as the site dictates, much to Dronechorus’ disappointment.
You can enjoy the performance again below:
Congratulations of course must go to the winners, Field Marshal Montgomery and all the other prize-winners throughout the grades.
