British Championships

31/05/2015

Saturday 30th May took the band to Bathgate in West Lothian to compete at the first RSPBA major championship of the 2015 season.

124 bands came from all over Europe to compete in this event which was held for the third year in Bathgate.

For the Grade 1 bands entered it was the March, Strathspey & Reel discipline that was the order of the day and the set chosen for them to play was, The Royal Scottish Pipers Society of London, The Bob’s of Fettercairn & Loch Carron.

The band finished in a slightly disappointing 7th place overall, however they are not too disheartened as there is still a lot to play for this season and many more contests still to go. The band will now analyse their own performance and structure their practices accordingly to improve as the season progresses.

A big well done of course must go to the winners on the day Field Marshall Montgomery from Northern Ireland. The full breakdown of results in all contests can be found on the RSPBA results pages.
