Dundonald Highland Games

The band travelled down to the north Ayrshire village of Dundonald on Saturday 9th August to compete at the local Highland Games.

Despite being the only Grade 1 band entered the contest was used as a final run out before the World Pipe Band Championships the following week.

The requirement for Grade 1 on the day was the Medley discipline and the band chose to play their new medley selection to air it again under competition conditions beneath the ruin of the old Dundonald Castle.

Again this is receiving very positive feedback by those understanding and appreciating the depth of musicality within the presentation.

The band took first place overall on the day and enjoyed competing and supporting these minor competitions. It also gives the locals of Dundonald the opportunity to hear the band in their home town.
