ScottishPower Pipe Band will be raising awareness and collecting funds for the Erskine Hospital on the night of their pre worlds 'energy' concert on Wednesday 10th August 2011.
With ticket sales taking their final leap we hope that people coming along to Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall will dig deep and support this charity. Erskine requires over £140,000 a week to support veterans in Scotland and anything we can do to help this can only be a good thing.
Pipe Sgt Donald Mackay who organised the fundraising said “As an ex serviceman myself, I am delighted that the band are able to do something for this very worthwhile charity which is obviously close to my heart. We will be dedicating a piece of music to them on the night which will give greater awareness of the charity and hopefully raise a lot of money along the way.”
Lesley Miller, Fundraising Manager at Erskine said "It is so generous of the Scottish Power Pipe Band to invite us to raise funds at their concert. The pipes play an integral - and very stirring - part in Scotland's proud military heritage and it is wonderful to see these modern-day musicians reaffirming that link with Erskine's veterans. We're grateful to all involved in the concert for helping us provide the care that our country's ex-Servicemen and women so richly deserve.'
