For 20 years now the Great Scot awards have honoured hundreds of ordinary people for the extraordinary achievements they have made. Actors, singers, politicians and sports stars all turned out in force to honour these unsung heroes of our communities and to also acknowledge the fantastic achievements of some of our own home grown celebrities.
The event took place in Glasgow's Hilton Hotel on Saturday 9th September and was hosted by Jackie Bird. As one of the main sponsors for the evening ScottishPower also provided some pipers to add to the occasion. Pictured in full No1 Dress are Pipe Sergeant Donald Mackay and Piper Russell Weir who played as guests arrived and later inside performed a medley to start off the evening within the main ballroom.
