The ‘Worlds Week’ in Glasgow just seems to get busier and busier with lots to see and do for anyone interested in piping and drumming.
Another concert making its mark is the Pipes Of Peace Concert which is held on the Thursday night before the Worlds in the Armadillo, Scottish Exhibition & Conference Centre.
On stage were three top grade bands playing new material from their repertoires ScottishPower Pipe Band, 78th Fraser Highlanders Pipe Band and the New York Metro Pipe Band.
The concert was compered by the one and only Bob Worrall (pictured) who gave snippets and funnies about the history and origins of the tunes played.
ScottishPower Pipe band opened their set with the beautiful modern day piobaireachd ‘Queen Elizabeth 2nds Salute’ by Pipe Major Donald Macleod of Lewis.
