Whilst the band were tuning up in Banchory, Piper Callum Moffat won the final of this years Scots Guards Association Knock out Competition.
This well established competition is run by Pipe Major Jimmy Banks and is held annually in the Scots Guards Club, Haymarket, Edinburgh, with the qualifying heats starting as far back as September last year.
Callum was in fine form on the day beating the other finalist Ross Miller to claim the top honour. He had travelled down from Aberdeen after playing in the band's concert the previous evening where he entertained the audience up there to an excellent solo performance which was greatly received.
This will hopefully be on the concert recording for you all to hear and enjoy soon.
Well done again Callum on a great result.
